This is a very common “gentle” plan used by guided and self-guided walking companies.

🗻 4) 9-Day Full Trail (Relaxed)

Days: 9 walking days

Outline: Similar to the 8-day, but with an extra rest/short day (often between:
Balmaha → Rowardennan or Tyndrum → Bridge of Orchy)

Who it’s for: Walkers who want more time for photos, side trips and rest.
This style appears in longer self-guided offerings.

🛶 5) 5-Day Highlight Section (North Only)

Days: 5 walking days

Outline: Inverarnan → Fort William
This shorter itinerary skips the Loch Lomond section and focuses on Rannoch Moor, Devil’s Staircase and Glen Nevis.

🍃 6) 5-Day Southern Highlights

Days: 5 walking days

Outline: Milngavie → Inverarnan
Great if you want a condensed Loch Lomond & woodland + classic lakeshore sections but aren’t ready for the northern moors

🌿 7) 3-Day Highlands Only (Short Break)

Days: 3 walking days

Outline: Bridge of Orchy → Kinlochleven → Fort William
Perfect for travellers short on time who want to see the wild moorland and highland sections.

🥾 8) 7-Day Modified Balanced Walk

Days: 7
Outline (example version):

Day 1 — Milngavie → Drymen

Day 5 — Bridge of Orchy → Kinlochleven

Day 6 — Kinlochleven → Fort William

Day 7 — Travel home
Notes: Includes balanced mileage with slightly longer middle days.

📸 9) “Highlights + Skip” Itinerary

Days: ~7
Outline:

Milngavie → Drymen

Drymen → Rowardennan
Skip Inverarnan → Bridge of Orchy by transfer

Bridge of Orchy → Kingshouse → Kinlochleven → Fort William
This approach uses a transfer to shorten the walking distance but still covers all major landscape highlights.

🪵 10) Combined Multi-Trail Adventure

Days: 12–14

Outline:

Complete West Highland Way then transition into the Great Glen Way north from Fort William → Inverness
A more epic trek combining two iconic Scottish trails — noted by some operators.
